Regulations We Adhere To

1

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

To meet the requirements in Section 2 (3) of this regulation, LJN Ltd takes every reasonable measure to guarantee the health and safety of our employees and clients when performing site clearances and general tree surgery tasks.

2

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002

Certain tree works, such as stump grinding and hedge cutting, can expose our operatives to harmful substances. Breathing in sawdust or diesel fumes when using machinery during certain tasks may result in health issues. That is why we take the necessary steps to reduce the impact of such substances.

3

Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992

Whether operating stump grinders to carry out non-chemical stump removals, chainsaws for tree felling or heavy machinery for land clearance projects, our company always provides our staff with the appropriate safety gear. Items such as ear defenders, gloves, helmets, visors, safety goggles, and boots help reduce the risk of personal injury to our personnel when undertaking work throughout Godalming.

4

Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)

Occasionally, we may require climbing, lifting and lowering equipment to help us with heavy loads or enable our staff to undertake tree works at height. Whether using ropes and anchor points, karabiners, harnesses, rigging, cranes, tree spades, or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), we plan and supervise all lifting operations to make sure our staff carry them out safely and responsibly.

5

Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)

We often use powerful and potentially dangerous machinery for stump grinding, hedge cutting, stump removals, site clearances, tree felling, or tree care. At LJN Ltd, our staff undergo regular training to ensure they remain current with the latest tree surgery techniques and technologies. This enables them to handle a wide range of equipment safely and professionally, including stump grinders.

6

Work at Height Regulations 2005

When undertaking certain tree surgery tasks in the Godalming area, such as tree felling, we use rigging, ladders and harnesses, which allow us to safely ascend a tree. Thanks to our training, we can safely operate chainsaws and other such equipment.
